Tassie Tours Tasmania · Hobart
Tassie Tours Tasmania takes you over on the ferry from Kettering for beaches, rainforest, food stops and the Cape Bruny Lighthouse. It has nothing to do with Port Arthur: book it for a different day, when you've had your fill of convict history.

Most Hobart visitors who do Port Arthur also do Bruny Island, and this is the same operator as our cheapest Port Arthur trip. The day starts with hotel pickup within 5 km of the Hobart CBD, a drive south to Kettering and the 20-minute ferry across to Roberts Point. Ferry fares and a National Parks Pass are included.
On the island the stops are short and frequent: an oyster bar, The Neck lookout over the thin isthmus between north and south Bruny, Adventure Bay beach, a rainforest walk, the chocolate company, lunch at Alonnah and 30 minutes at the Cape Bruny Lighthouse. The day runs about 10 hours, with an early start.
Food is the catch. Lunch and the tastings are paid on the day, and so is entry to the lighthouse tower if you want to go up. It's a grazing day more than a hiking one, with easy walks throughout. Pair it with a Port Arthur trip on a different date; doing both in one day isn't possible.
From hotels within 5 km of the Hobart CBD.
The car ferry to Roberts Point on North Bruny.
