Tours Tasmania · Hobart
Tours Tasmania packs Tasmanian devils at feeding time, a coastal walk at Waterfall Bay, Tasmans Arch and Richmond into one 10-hour day, with Port Arthur in the middle. Book it for the wildlife and the walk, and know that you get only 2.25 hours in the ruins, the shortest stay of any day trip.

This is the active option. You meet at 20 Davey Street at 7:25am, in a group of 18 at most, and the first big stop is the Waterfall Bay track, about 45 minutes on foot along the cliffs. Tasmans Arch and Devil's Kitchen are close by. Then 75 minutes at the Tasmanian Devil Unzoo at Taranna, a wildlife park without cages, timed for the devil feeding.
Port Arthur gets 2.25 hours, including the 20-minute harbour cruise. Be honest about what that means: after the cruise you have under two hours, enough for the Penitentiary, the Separate Prison and a quick look at the church. The houses, the gardens and the guide talks mostly go. The day ends with 45 minutes in Richmond and you're back around 6:00pm.
Two rules set this tour apart. Children under 8 can't come, and it isn't suitable for anyone with limited mobility, because of the walk. And free cancellation closes 2 days before, not 24 hours like the other day trips. If Port Arthur is your main reason for the day, book the Isle tour or the Deep History tour instead.
